Precision Nick Grinding for Steel Rule Dies
High-speed rotary nick grinders designed to produce clean, accurate and perfectly controlled nicks for modern die-cutting operations.
Improve carton quality, increase production speed and achieve consistent results in steel rule die making.
Models available:
NG91 and NG2000 – both available in Standard and Extended versions.
In high-speed die-cutting presses, nicking is a necessary step to keep sheets together during the cutting process. Poor nicking can reduce carton quality, slow down production and make waste stripping more difficult.
The NOR-GRAPHIC NG series nick grinders provide a precise and controlled grinding process that produces consistent nicks with predetermined widths and depths.
The result is better sheet release, cleaner carton blanks and higher production speeds.
Key advantages
-
Consistent and controlled nickingAll nicks are ground to predetermined widths and depths for repeatable results.
-
Improved carton qualityClean, perpendicular nicks reduce marks on the finished carton blanks.
-
Higher production speedBetter sheet release allows faster and more reliable die-cutting operations.
-
Better waste strippingReduced and more precise nicking makes the stripping process easier.
-
Compact and easy to useHandy, lightweight design ideal for one-hand operation.
Available models – both with standard or extended base plate

Our NG Nick-Grinders – model NG91 and NG2000 is available with standard base-plate 70 x 70 mm or extended base-plate 150 x 140 mm.
The difference between NG Nick-Grinders model NG91 and NG2000 is the type of air-motor:
NG91 p
Model NG91 comes with a standard air motor type LZB14-L A190-12, and is recommended for use with diamond grinding discs.
The air motors of all previously delivered model NG91 Nick-Grinders may easily be replaced with the new LZB14-NG air motor – as their outer diameters are identical.
NG2000 p
Model NG2000 comes with a special designed air motor type LZB14-NG, and is recommended for use with standard «stone» grinding discs.
The lowered position of the «off/centre» shaft allows the grinding disc to be worn down to an outer diameter of 20.4 mm. Maximum utilization of the grinding disc is achieved.
